For those that do not know what NetApp Insight is, it is NetApp’s annual technical conference that is ran in Las Vegas to cover the Americas and  in Berlin to cover EMEA. I am extremely fortunate to be able to attend both conferences. As part of the NetApp A-Team, in Las Vegas not only were we able to get to the General Sessions or the Technical breakouts but we were also  able to network with some of our peers, within NetApp, that we may only get to communicate over email with that are. Alongside this we got to take part in certain press events andRead More →

I sent an email out this morning to the team containing some NetApp & VMware updates, although I don’t write too much on my own site I do try and update the team with as much interesting stuff that is happening out in our little world as possible. This may be things I have picked up during the course of the week over twitter, other blog sites or fellow advocate program emails. Which tend to actually promote me into sending the info out? Over the last month i have been pretty busy attending the NetApp insight conferences in both Las Vegas and in Berlin as well as doing my normal day job. First up was Las Vegas for my first visit and my first US version of the event. You can see some of the tourist things i did whilst out there. I found the city to be of huge scale, and its a city where you dont want to be extending your stay past 4-5 days, it’s a city that takes a lot…. quite literally. We then had a couple of weeks break then it was timeRead More →

Following on from my previous post regarding my trip over to the US for NetApp Insight in Vegas i have also put together my schedule for Berlin. Much closer to home this one, and familiar territory for me as i have done quite a lot of work over in Berlin, so the flight to Tegal will only be a short 1 hour and 45 mins, where as Vegas will be 10 hours 30 mins. I mentioned in my previous post that i had booked 2 exam slots one for Vegas and one for Berlin, these were booked based on the requirements of certification level andRead More →

Following on from my “An Englishman in…..San Francisco” post i thought i would continue on that theme and write down my latest trip to the US, and this time again NetApp related and this time it was for my first NetApp Insight event in Las Vegas. Having suffered with jet lag from the  trip to San Francisco i decided to venture out to Vegas a few days early to get rid of the jet lag before the big event. For those that have attended Insight in either the US or EMEA or even APAC when this was running know how much it takes its strainRead More →

I firstly got to meet some of my fellow NetApp Advocates, as expected they are a great bunch, that just love NetApp. Day One (Monday) So i flew out of London Heathrow at 2pm and travelled west to San Francisco internationalRead More →
